Planning & Zoning Commission

The Planning and Zoning Commission is an advisory board.  Their primary duty is to hold hearings where public opinion can be exposed regarding:

  • Proposed rezoning
  • Special use permits
  • Zoning code amendments
  • Subdivision plats
  • Home occupations
  • Vacation of alleys and streets
  • Other items found in Macon Planning and Zoning regulations

Requests to the Board

Once a request is discussed and voted on by the commission, it is forwarded to the City Council Agenda with the recommendation as decided at the public hearing.  The City Council makes the final vote. For more information contact Code Enforcement at 660-395-2632.

To request a hearing, please fill out an application and submit to Macon City Hall, 106 W Bourke Street, Macon, Mo.  

All required documents MUST be attached at the time of application.
